Halate is a video production studio operated as a VOF (general partnership) registered in the Netherlands. These general terms apply to enquiries made and projects booked through halate.io, alongside any project-specific agreement signed for a particular job.
Submitting the contact form is not a booking — it's the start of a conversation. Any quote we provide is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and project work only begins once both parties have agreed scope, schedule, and price in writing (typically via a written proposal or contract).
Each project is scoped individually based on the brief discussed. Significant changes to scope, deliverables, or timeline after work has begun may affect cost and schedule — we'll always discuss this with you before proceeding.
Payment terms (deposits, milestones, invoicing schedule) are set out in the individual project agreement. Standard Dutch invoicing and VAT rules apply where relevant.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, ownership and usage rights of final delivered footage transfer to the client upon full payment, for the purposes agreed at the outset of the project. Halate retains the right to use project work for its own portfolio, website, and promotional purposes, unless the client requests otherwise and this is agreed in writing.
Raw/unedited footage, project files, and behind-the-scenes material remain the property of Halate unless otherwise agreed.
If a confirmed project is cancelled or postponed by the client, costs already incurred (crew bookings, equipment, locations, travel) may be chargeable. Specific cancellation terms are set out in the individual project agreement.
Halate carries out work to a professional standard but cannot guarantee specific business outcomes (e.g. views, leads, or sales) resulting from a film. Our liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the fees paid for that project, except where liability cannot be limited under Dutch law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Dutch courts, unless otherwise agreed in a specific project contract.
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@halate.io.
